Body neutrality - cultivating love and respect for yourself

Body neutrality basically means taking a neutral perspective towards your body. That means that  you may not always love your body, but you are still allowed to live happily, eat food, do things you like, and appreciate everything your body can do. 

 

Most days I do love my body, and on the days I don’t I strive to be neutral. But that really wasn’t always the case. From a young age, I was taught to hate my body. And I am not alone. I think most women are taught that their value lies in their beauty. And as a society having the “perfect body” is needed to be perceived as beautiful and therefore valuable. 

 

Talk about pressure…
